Celebrating Re.Plastic Changemakers - Recycling Heroes on Global Recycling Day 2020

The first Global Recycling Day was 18 March 18. Since 2018, when I started this blog and the year where plastic pollution was the focus for UN Environment with both Earth Day 2018 & Environment Day having themes to check plastic pollution, the Global Recycling Foundation initiated celebration of Global Recycling Day to be observed annually on 18 March.

The theme for Global Recycling Day 2020 is Recycling Heroes, celebrating innovative recycling efforts of individuals and institutions across the globe. The celebration is in line with sustainable development and SDG 12, encouraging responsible consumption and production that is inherent in recycling and upcycling.
